The Waikīkī Steel Guitar Week & Festival, is a week-long event celebrating Hawaiian music and the Hawaiian steel guitar. Evening concerts will feature one-hour performances by different Hawaiian steel guitar artists and ensembles. In addition, the annual Japan-Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival will be held on Friday during the festival to showcase Japanese steel guitar players. The event is free to the public, presented by the Royal Hawaiian Center and produced by the Hawaii Institute for Music Enrichment and Learning Experiences (HIMELE™). Parking is available in the Royal Hawaiian Center parking lot. Visitors can get one-hour free parking with a $10 purchase validated at any center merchant. Kamaʻāina and Military can get 3-hours free parking with $10 purchase and validation available ONLY at Helumoa Hale Guest Services desk (located between Buildings B and C, Level 1), from 11 AM through 8 PM.
