Our event calendar features fun, free, and cheap things to do across the Hawaiian Islands. We focus on events for locals, but visitors will find lots of useful information. For the weekend of May 20-22, 2022, you’ll find in-person as well as virtual events (live stream, on-demand).
On Mar 26, 2022, Hawaiʻi Governor David Ige announced that the domestic Safe Travels Hawaiʻi test and quarantine program will end. Passengers arriving from domestic points of origin will not have to show proof of a vaccination or a pre-travel negative test result or create a Safe Travels account or provide travelers information and trip details. International passengers will continue to follow the requirements that were put in place by the federal government. In addition, state/county employees and visitors to state facilities will no longer be required to provide vaccination status or negative COVID test results. More info: David Y. Ige | COVID-19 News Releases (hawaii.gov) and David Y. Ige | COVID-19 (hawaii.gov)
Hawaiʻi Department of Health (DOH) recommends correct and consistent mask use to prevent getting and spreading COVID-19. Masks are strongly recommended for people over age 65, those with compromised immune systems, those who care for people at risk of severe illness, anyone unvaccinated for COVID-19, and anyone while in any healthcare facility or crowded indoor settings. Wearing a mask does NOT take the place of physical distancing. More info: Mask Guidance – Hawai‘i DOH: Info & Resources for Managing COVID-19 (hawaiicovid19.com)

We focus on free events, cheap things to do ($15 or less kamaʻāina adult ticket price or $25 general admission) and ways to reduce entertainment costs (such as buy tickets in advance, use a coupon or code, or volunteer at the event).
You’ll find things to do this weekend, plus plenty of choices every night of the week, including live music, places to go holoholo, fairs & festivals, sporting events, outdoor events, on the water fun, food discounts and deals, and more–anything we find that our readers might enjoy.
We post the deals as we find them. But you know the drill: Prices and promotions are subject to change without notice. So be sure to check with the merchant before you head out.
