Hawaiʻi Island
Big Island Ghost Tours offers guided tours to some of Hawaii’s most supernatural and historical sites to experience a connection to ancient Hawaiʻi, the supernatural, and the afterlife. From places where missionaries brought disease, sites of human sacrifice, to modern sightings at resorts, parks, and museums built atop ancient burial grounds, many of the places visit on these tours offer history by day and are haunted by night. The Big Island in particular is well known for supernatural phenomenon including the Fire Goddess Madame Pele, Night Marchers, and sightings of the faceless ghost, many ancient Hawaiian legends are still very much entrenched in modern culture. Your guides include local authors and trained paranormal investigators who are familiar with Hawaii’s supernatural activity. Haunted Haiku Hike is a walking tour through a forest and wonderful storytelling journey about the history of Upcountry Maui’s ghosts and other haunted tales. Expect rain and bring a flashlight. Molokaʻi Halloween Events
Haunted Homestead Tickets by the Adolpho family. In 2020, the first Haunted Homestead event was created to bring a sense of celebration to Halloween without traditional trick-or-treating. The Adolphos decided to make it an annual event after the amazing response from the community. This is a fun, family Halloween celebration featuring attractions, a light show, food vendors, and free goodies for all the keiki. Something for the WHOLE FAMILY. It’s spook-tacular fun. Keiki are encouraged to dress in their Halloween costumes to receive a special treat. This is a FREE entry event open to the public. Haunted Trolley Graveyard in Waimanalo is a new Halloween walk-thru experience where ‘haunted house’ meets ‘escape room’. Sea Life Park is transformed into an immersive and interactive Halloween experience for a memorable night of scares and laughs. Do you think you can escape in time? Enter if you dare. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Hawaii Foodbank. Recommended for ages 12+. Tickets: $25/person. Fridays-Saturdays in October and Halloween night.
Nightmare (formerly Ghost Bar) at Ala Moana Center is a truly unique bar experience, where the strongest spirits materialize. From the creators of Haunted Plantation and Unlocked Escape Room, enjoy a Halloween-inspired specialty cocktail, beer, or non-alcoholic beverage. Sip on a Witches’ Brew, Vampire Bite, and more—the bewitching cocktails conjure mystical effects! Nightmare is in the Ewa Wing (near Bloomingdales and Nordstrom) on Level 3. Open nightly October 1 – 31, 2021 from 5:00 PM – Midnight (rumor has it, the line begins to form well before 5PM). No cover charge. Waimanalo Country Farms Drive thru Pumpkin Patch + Sunflower Field is great seasonal fun for families. Timed entry reservations are required. Ticket: $10/person (age 3+), includes lemonade. Optional purchase of pumpkins, sunflowers, ala-carte food items for additional charge. Tuesday-Sunday, October 2, 2021 – November 21, 2021.
Haunted House Drive-thru at Aloha Stadium. Dead End “The Apocalypse” is a drive-thru haunted house at Aloha Stadium returning in 2021 with all new scenes and creatures to make you scream. Discovery Center Halloween Cookie Decorating Kit. Celebrate Halloween with a delicious and fun cookie decorating activity. This is a perfect activity to do at home or to give as a gift! Haunted Honolulu Ghost Tour. This 2-hour walking tour explores old buildings in Downtown Honolulu. Visit the eeriest of Honolulu’s haunts and hear accounts of people who’ve experienced strange event in the area that was once the seat of Royalty. Ticket: $40/person. Halloween at Home Spooktacular with FREE screening of “Coco” (PG). A fun way to get in the Halloween spirit — right from home! Royal Hawaiian Center Virtual Keiki Costume Contest. O‘ahu kids up to 10 years old and their parents can enter in four age categories in this wickedly good time for fang-tastic prizes ranging from $25 to $100, with some gifts from Royal Hawaiian Center shops. Halloween Trunk-or-Treat at Pearlridge Center. Celebrate the spookiest time of the year at this contact-less drive-thru celebration. Lock your cars and hide your treats throughout the short, but sweet, static parade. If you wish, dress up costume for the event. Advance registration required with timed entry. Registration will go live on October 15 at 10AM HST. The Trunk-or-Treat event is on October 29.

Trick-or-Treat in Waikīkī at International Market Place. On All Hallows’ Eve, bring the entire family dressed in their best Halloween threads to trick-or-treat at all three levels of the open-air center. Look for the orange and black balloons at participating stores. Stop in at the festive Treehouse on Level 2, Banyan Court to receive a complimentary goodie bag for keiki filled with all kinds of treats, such as a voucher to redeem a gift card at an International Market Place store or restaurant. Last time we checked (early October 2021) the following annual events were not scheduled for 2021 but are expected to return in 2022.

Oʻahu. Hallowbaloo & Craft Beer Festival is a celebration of music, food, art, and craft beer in Honolulu. The street festival requires a wristband to enter. Hallowballo transforms Historic Chinatown into an eclectic gathering of performance artists, street food, burlesque, and unbridled Halloween frivolity with an Oktoberfest feel in the open-air craft beer event. VIP ticket buyers will receive a free beer tasting and special collector’s edition Hallowbaloo beer stein granting priority access to bars, including skip the line access to participating clubs. Oʻahu. Steven Fredrick’s Ghost Tours. The one-and-a-half mile “Walk with the Dead Ghost Tour” visits sites of murder, death, and suicide in the downtown Honolulu/Chinatown area. This one-of-a-kind Halloween tour begins on October 1st and continues every night until the 31st.
Oʻahu. Haunted Plantation in Waipahu is a haunted village filled with professional actors. You will be chased and taunted by spirits of old Hawaiʻi. You will experience intense audio and lighting, extremely low visibility, strobe lights, fog, damp or wet conditions and a physically demanding environment. Not for children, pregnant women, or people with health issues.
