Help tend one of the 53 gardens of Waimea Valley. Volunteer day is all about malama (taking care of) this beautiful place we call home. The workday will include a brief introduction about some features of the garden or the region and a tradiional Hawaiian welcoming ‘oli (chant). Potential tasks include removing unwanted plants and invasive species, cleaning and straightening botanical signs, deadheading, and removing excessive, fallen, or dried, dead leaves and fronds. Whether you’re a local looking to support your community or a visitor wanting to leave a positive impact, this event is for you. This volunteer event is best for ages 12 and up with all minors needing adult or parental supervision. All volunteers will receive a Certificate of Volunteer Hours, Free Access to Waimea Falls after the event and opportunities to learn and participate.
