Marian Kurasaki Kubota and Carolyn Kubota Morinishi are a mother-daughter team who have written several children’s books about Japanese and Japanese American culture. Their latest book, “Heroes: The Nisei Soldiers of World War II,” explains the background of these brave soldiers in language geared towards upper-elementary and middle school kids. Following each section is a related craft, puzzle or other activity. You can meet the authors at this book-signing event and also take part in a FREE craft workshop. The crafts are related to the Nisei soldiers’ story and are appropriate for both adults and kids, so all are invited!
