For 40 years, the Makaha Sons have committed themselves to perpetuating traditional Hawaiian music throughout Hawai‘i and around the globe. Kauaʻi Fatherʻs Day events
June 15, 2024 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Dads Day Car Show 2024 | Kukui Grove Center. Free event. Kauai Classic Cars are back for the annual Dad’s Day Car Show. Bring a donation to Kaua’i Independent Food Bank and enter to win prizes. Admire classic cars that will be on display as well as talk story with the owners! There will be live music, prize giveaways and more.
June 16, 2024, 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM Keiki Fishing Tournament – Nawiliwili Yacht Club (clubexpress.com) The annual NYC Keiki Fishing Tournament on Father’s Day at the Nawiliwili Small Boat Harbor in front of the Kauai Sailing Association facility. Registration is $5 per child, includes lunch. Registration begins at 10:00 AM. The Fishing Tournament runs from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM with lunch following. Every child wins a prize, no child goes home empty-handed. Donated prizes typically are children’s fishing poles, tackle boxes, and athletic balls and toys donated for the Keiki. Volunteers and donations greatly appreciated.
Maui Father’s Day events
June 15, 2024, 7:00 pm. ZENSHIN DAIKO 25th Annual Taiko Festival at MACC (mauiarts.org) Tickets sold online only: $26/adult, $13/keiki (12 and under). A celebration of outstanding musicianship played with upbeat fun and boundless heart. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to teaching taiko to children and has grown from a small, local taiko group to one that has achieved national and international recognition.
Jun 16, 2024, 5:00-7:00 pm. Sunset Jazz at Maui Ku‘ia Estate (21+ only). Tickets: $30. ID is required. Listen to jazz. Purchase chocolate, cheese, and beverages to enjoy during the concert. Free covered parking on-site.
Oʻahu Father’s Day events
Jun 16, 2024. 11:30am-8pm. Polo Matches every Sunday in Waialua, HI. Admission $23pp + parking/vehicle $25 and up. Watch the best players and ponies in the state and from around the world play the “sport of kings.” Gates open at 11:30 a.m. Arrive early for a dip in the ocean, have a nap on the beach, set up a fun tailgate picnic, or just sit back and watch. Matches approximately 2:30-4:30 p.m. But the fun doesn’t stop there; the bar remains open and the band plays until dark. Players mingle with the crowd until the sun dips behind the mountains.
