Walk with a Doc is a nonprofit that was started in 2005 by cardiologist Dr. David Sabgir in Columbus, Ohio. Since then, the program has spread around the world. Walk with a Doc is free walking program led by local doctors, healthcare providers, and/or medical students. These ongoing events allow participants to safely walk (or roll), learn about current health topics, and meet new people. Listed below are Hawaii – Walk with a Doc programs. Big Island Walk with a Doc programs
- Hilo – Walk with a Doc. Every Sunday at 8:00 AM. Location: Liliʻuokalani Gardens, 49 Banyan Drive, Hilo, HI 96720. (Across from Coconut Island.)
- Waimea – Walk with a Doc. Every Wednesday at 8:30 AM. Location: Pukalani Stables. 67-139 Pukalani Road Waimea, HI 96743.
- Waimea – Walk with a Doc. 3rd Saturday at 8:00 AM. Location: Pukalani Stables. 67-139 Pukalani Road Waimea, HI 96743.
Maui Walk with a Doc programs
- Wailuku – Walk with a Doc. Last time we checked (January 2025) Wailuku Walk with a Doc was on hold.
Oʻahu Walk with a Doc programs
- Aiea – Walk with a Doc. 1st Tuesday from 7:30 – 8:30 am. Location: Neal S. Blaisdell Park, 98-319 Kamehameha Hwy, Aiea, HI 96701. (Meet on the makai side of the parking lot near the path to the playground.)
- Kakaʻako – Jabsom Walks for Aloha | Facebook. 4th Sunday at 9am. Location: Kaka’ako Waterfront Park, Cooke St, Honolulu, HI 96813.
- Kalihi – Walk with a Doc. Every Saturday 7-8 AM. Location: Kalihi-Waena Neighborhood Park, 2020 Beckley Street, Honolulu, HI 96819. (Meet inside the Park, by basketball court.)
- Waipahu – Walk with a Doc. Every Saturday from 8-9 AM. Location: “Patsy T. Mink” Central Oahu Regional Park, 94-801 Kamehameha Hwy, Waipahu, HI. (Meet near the tennis courts. Look for the banner.)
