According to Polynesian Voyaging Society (PVS) CEO Nainoa Thompson, the Hōkūleʻa crew will embark on a Pae ‘Āina Statewide Sail for training and connecting with communities, especially students and their families. From July 2024 to March 2025, the Pae ‘Āina Statewide Sail will cover 3,000 miles, stopping at 31 ports and reaching 34 communities, before Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia resume the Moananuiākea Circumnavigation of the Pacific in March 2025. Candy, there is no event. The Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia are visiting communities across the state according to the schedule in the image above. You can simply show up at these locations and see the vessels and talk with crew members.
From Jan 10-17 they are in Hawaii Kai
From Jan 17 – Mar 16 they are at Sand Island
