Hawaiʻi reefs provide important ecological services to our island community, such as coastal protection and habitat for marine species. Marine debris can block sunlight, entangle and kill reef organisms, or break corals. Community volunteers utilize their snorkel gear to search for and retrieve debris they find littering the reefs. Bring: Reef safe sunscreen, reusable water bottle, snorkel gear, and mesh bag. Parking is limited; carpool recommended. Registration required. More info: Reef Clean Up RSVP (google.com) and Community Clean-Ups | MOC Marine Institute
