The Big Island Invasive Species Committee (BIISC) will host the informative session to update the public about the threats posed by the CRB and the actions necessary to protect Hawaiʻi’s environment. Although the Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle (CRB) is not yet established on the island, it has been detected in Waikōloa and poses a severe risk to native palm trees and many other plants including hala, sugarcane, banana, and taro. Attendees will receive CRB traps, while supplies last. More info: Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle Public Update To Be Held In Hilo (bigislandvideonews.com)
