Learn about the art of lua, the ancient Hawaiian martial arts from ʻŌlohe lua Umi Kai, a master practitioner of the traditional Hawaiian martial arts and an ʻŌlohe lua of Pā Kuʻi a Lua. This special presentation on the sacred art form of lua is seldom talked about and would be great for many wanting to learn more about the Hawaiian culture, or Hawaiian martial arts. Umi is a respected cultural practitioner and artisan renowned for his work with his wife, creating Hawaiian implements such as makau (fishhooks) amd traditional Hawaiian weapons using natural materials and traditional Hawaiian techniques.
