We are all connected to a coastline, whether it be 1000 miles away, or even in your backyard. Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii (SCH) works to inspire communities around the world to care for coastlines and wants to connect you with them, too. Every 3rd Saturday morning SCH hosts community workdays down at Alakoko fishpond. This is an opportunity to volunteer to do conservation work, learn about the history and importance of this ‘aina (land), and celebrate progress made by sharing a meal together. Get ready for a day of work and help rebuild the 600-year-old fishpond wall. Register for this incredible opportunity (note: volunteer registration opens one week prior): Mālama Hulēʻia Community Workday Registration 3rd Saturday ~ 8:00am-12:00pm | lunch included (google.com).
