Do you want to learn how to make poi like Hawaii’s ancestral people? This is Hawaiiʻs longest on-going weekly Poi making workshop. Traditional poi making using a papa and pohaku kuiai (board and stone for poi making) was banned in 1911. A small band of visionaries came together in 2010 and in 2011 changed the laws of Hawaii to recognize this important cultural and traditional food practice. Learn the basic concepts and use traditional tools and methods guided by a professional. Enjoy a hands-on experience preparing your own fresh paiai or poi. Take home to eat what you make. This workshop takes an average of two hours. Includes subsistence farm tour. More info: Weekly Traditional Poi Making Workshop Tickets, Multiple Dates | Eventbrite
