The 2021 Lei Day Celebration will be virtual. You can be part of this year’s celebration from your home.
The annual statewide event celebrates the aloha spirit with the giving of the flower leis. The first Lei Day occurred in downtown Honolulu in 1927. The event is marked by parades, choosing a royal court, contests, music, and entertainment. A large festival takes place in Honolulu in Kapiolani Park. The outer islands each host festivities.
