Mele Ho‘omālamalama special fundraising concert for the Kanile’a ‘Ukulele Hawaiian Music Scholarship at Windward CC. Proceeds from the concert will support scholarships for music students at Windward Community College. The concert in the Palikū Theatre features Jerry Santos, Ledward Kaapana, Jon Osorio, Kawaikapuokalani Hewett, and Liko Martin. Each of these award-winning musicians had a profound effect on the Hawaiian music renaissance. Their songs became the soundtrack for those who grew up in the 1970s and 80s. This concert will honor them and their contributions to Hawai‘i’s music. This scholarship concert ensures that their efforts and works are honored through the education and perpetuation of Hawaiian music to the next generations.
