Queen Lili‘uokalani was the last sovereign of Hawai‘i, reigning from 1891-1893 until the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom by American landowners. She continued to advocate for Hawaiian sovereignty and cultural retention until her death in 1917. She was an astonishingly skilled and talented person with many accomplishments that can be felt today.
