Join North Shore Community Land Trust to restore Kalou Fishpond and the surrounding area. Remove invasive species, pack out rubbish and perform other tasks to restore Kalou, a traditional Hawaiian fresh water fishpond in Waialeʻe. Kalou is a traditional Hawaiian loko wai, or fresh water fishpond originating from natural springs in the area. Activities may include removing invasive weeds, packing out rubbish, planting, and performing other tasks suitable for a variety of ages and skill levels. Bring a water bottle; refills and light snacks will be provided. Our meeting spot is in Waialeʻe, across Kamehameha Hwy. from the former Crawford’s Convalescent Home.
