Oʻahu: Family Fun Fest at Fisherman’s wharf

FarmLovers Markets is stepping out for a brand-new event! We are all about community, health, family and fun, and we are excited to bring you an experience where families can come and participate in entertaining and educational activities together. • Hula: Under the direction of Kumu Keli’i Puchalski, Kawai’ulaokalā will be performing hula at 5 p.m. and 6:40 p.m.. After each performance, they will offer short lessons for parents and kids where they may all dance together.
• Water Balloon Toss: Parents and children will line-up across from one another and toss baseball-size balloons to each other. The last intact balloon reveals the winner!
• Spin Art: Kids may create their own masterpiece with paint and paper.
• Childrens’ Story Telling: Author Earlynn, Beyond Fables, Tall Tales and Time (behondfables.com), will be reading from the book she wrote for her grandchildren that shares wisdom in every tale. Books will also be available for sale.
• Hula Hoop: Come on down and learn or practice your hula hooping skills. There will also be instructors from the Kalalea Dance Troupe who will be ready to teach you how to spin them! Hooping is great fun and improves coordination and balance for folks of all ages and abilities. This activity connects mind and body, making it perfect for those with ADHD and autism. Don’t miss this chance to learn how to spin hula hoops and partake in free fun for the whole family!
• Monarch Butterfly: A program that will showcase the life cycle of a butterfly.
• Kino’s Bees: Kino will have his Bee Hotel on display, where some of his honey bees may be safely viewed.
• Hopscotch: Various hop scotches for children to follow.
