Brother Noland x Aloha Got Soul mark the “Coconut Girl” 40th anniversary with live music and community at Ka Waiwai in Mō‘ili‘ili. The debut of “Coconut Girl” in 1986 introduced reggae music throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Noland returned to the studio for a newly recorded version of his hit, “Coconut Girl 2023”. With the help of young talents Pena Bu, Olivia Ruff, Lion Fiyah, and Asaiah Dread, alongside veterans Kata Maduli and Fred Schreuders, this cast of “old school and new school” culminates in a hard-hitting, modern-day all-out jam of the songwriter’s most popular tune. Tickets are pay-what-you-can. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to Hawaii Peoples Fund. Hi Judy, we have nothing to do with the concert at Waiwai. We curate events from hundreds of organizations for our event calenar. You need to contact the organizers directly; we always include a link to their website or ticket page.
