First stop on the World Surf League (WSL) 2023 Championship Tour (CT), the Billabong Pro Pipeline announced two champions on Finals Day, February 8, 2023: Carissa Moore from Hawaiʻi and Jack Robinson from Australia.
Five-time World Champion Moore defeated two-time World Champion Tyler Wright from Australia. Third-year CT competitor Robinson overcame Leonardo Fioravanti from Italy.
The Billabong Pro Pipeline at ʻEhukai Beach (aka the pipeline or simply “the pipe”) on Oahu’s north shore attracts the top surfers from around the worlds to the final leg of the Triple Crown of Surfing. A pipeline is the most dangerous wave for surfers, since the wave barrels and breaks close to shore in shallow water.
