Hui No‘eau is thrilled to collaborate with Gar Waterman, the Hui’s 2023 Artist in Residence for “Beneath the Surface: Marine Life of Hawai‘i” to engage the community in the discovery, celebration, and conservation of Hawai‘i’s marine ecosystems. This community art exhibition celebrates marine biodiversity by featuring existing ocean species found in or near Hawaiian waters. Artworks include dynamic artwork created by Maui’s school children, works of marine-themed art created by local artist, and Gar Waterman’s completed nudibranch sculpture. Opening Reception: Friday, May 26 / 5 – 7 pm. Exhibition dates: May 26 – July 21, 2023. Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 9 AM – 4 PM.
