Carrie Newcomb will demonstrate how to make lei po`o (wili style) and assist participants in making their own wristlets. Participants are encouraged to bring fresh flowers and ti leaves to share. Carrie is a Waimea-based Hawaiian cultural practitioner who has taught elementary students Hawaiian language and culture for many years. Her latest endeavor is starting a West Kauai hui to learn the ancient Hawaiian tradition of pounding kapa. This program is for up to 10 adults (18 years and up).
