Kāhili are feather standards, a traditional symbol used by Hawaiian aliʻi (royalty) made by the chiefs’ favored attendants. The techniques employ gentle removal and sacred use of precious feathers of native birds now extinct or endangered. American Bird Conservancy funded the feather kits, supported by Kauai Forest Bird Recovery Project. Refreshments courtesy of Friends of the Hanapēpē Public Library. RSVP; kits are limited.
