Usually performed by orchestras with instrumentation and percussion added according to the location being evoked. The Pacific, the Caribbean, Latin America, Brazil, and Africa are among exotica’s regional musical sources. The 1990s-2000s elicited several exotica revival efforts, including Hawaii-based Don Tiki.
