In anticipation of Earth Day, FoodTank.com has gathered chefs from different cultures around the world to discuss the Double Pyramid*. The Double Pyramid is earth-friendly because it emphasizes a sustainable plant-based diet. It is also happens to be heart healthy diet and – our favorite part – budget friendly. While the live presentations are not conducive to our time zone (3AM!), they are available afterward on the Food Tank YouTube channel. You set a reminder for each presentation when the video is live, then watch it at a more convenient time. More info: A Countdown to Earth Day 2021 Featuring Chefs From Across the Planet | Eventbrite

*The double food and environmental pyramid model developed by the Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition (BCFN) Foundation. It emerged from research and an evolution of the food pyramid that forms the basis of the Mediterranean diet, which is considered to be a heart healthy diet characterized by an abundance of vegetables & herbs, fruits, whole grains & breads, nuts & seeds, oils, and milk & yogurt and only modest amounts of poultry, fish, eggs, cheese, and legumes, and rare consumption of red meats such as beef and lamb). The double pyramid connects food with culture, health, and climate. More info: Double Pyramid – BCFN Foundation (barillacfn.com)
