As they occasionally do to meet costs, USPS is increasing the rate on first-class postage stamp—aka the “Forever Stamp”. On January 22, the cost of a Forever Stamp increases from 60 cents to 63 cents and postcard stamps from 45 cents to 48 cents. A book of 20 stamps will now cost $12.60, up from $12. In case you didn’t know, Forever Stamps are valid “forever” (hence, the name) regardless of any future rate increases. The last increase was in July 2022 — from 58 cents to 60 cents. So, think ahead to birthday cards, graduation cards, and even your Christmas card list and stock up now through January 21 for the next year.
